Hello,
my name is Daniel and I am a sales professional who has worked from
home for the last 8 years so I am really interested in the concept of
co-working, I am also exploring a career change in the area of
Sustainability so it'd be nice to exchange/brainstorm ideas. I have
the following questions:
1. do you welcome members that need the space once/twice a week,
about 4-5 hours/each? if so, how much will the fee be?
2. do you have a wireless connection? I assume you do but wanted to
ask.
3. do you have a LAN line?
4. when can I stop by and see the place?

thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

At Berkeley Coworking, we do enjoy open discussion about all things
awesome, including technology, sustainability, gaming, bbq, and beer
making!

We currently have 7+ anchor members to our group, so it's reasonable
to assume that someone is at the space most weekdays between 10 & 5
pm. We usually update our open/closed status on a twitter account: http://twitter.com/berkeleycowork

To your questions, I have the following answers:

1. Yes, drop-in guests are welcome. For a pay as you go approach we
have a tip jar. If you find value in our community, we hope you
contribute. We typically see contributions around $20 for a full day's
use. For a desk and a key, it's $400 / month. I think we're now
offering a key only option as well, but I don't recall the pricing.

2. We do have a WiFi connection and DSL Internet access.

3. We do have a Local Area Network (LAN) option for computers without
WiFi. We do *not* have any land line phone service. Members of our
space typically use their cell phones for all voice communications.
This brings up another point. Our space is very open air and not very
conducive to heavy phone usage within the space. Short occasional
phone calls are fine. For long running or private phone calls, we
typically walk outside and conduct our calls in the courtyard.

4. Stop by any time. Use our twitter status to see if there's anyone
there, or call our phone number (510) 725-4502. This rings all of our
phones and if once of us can pick up, we will.

Kindest Regards,
Sean
