Dear Berkeley alumni, students and friends,

Please find below the mid-May 2013 update of upcoming events for the Berkeley Club of Singapore (in Blue and Bold) and from our affiliate clubs via DUAL (in Red and Bold).

As we approach the summer season, we have many activities coming up for the Club and look forward to seeing you at several of them.

We would like to highlight a few events that will be happening next month (and one for July). Come join us on Saturday, 8th of June for a very long overdue Cal BBQ. Our upcoming Happy Hour (co-hosted with Boston University) will be held on Thursday, 13th of June and as always, new members who sign up or old members who renew their memberships at the Happy Hour will receive a free beer, compliments of several Exco members (limited supply). Give back to the community and join us for our volunteering event at Willing Hearts on Saturday, 29th of June. Last but not least, please remember to mark your calenders for our Annual Dinner which will be held on Friday, 26th of July.

Also, if you are interested in being part of a Berkeley team for the DUAL Trivia Challenge, please respond to this email. If there is enough interest, we will organize a team.

To receive the most up-to-date information on Club activities and news about Cal, please join us on our Facebook Page and Group.

9. Educational Opportunity - Global Asia Management Programme, a new MBA Scholarship Programme by EDB

A new MBA scholarship programme called the Global-Asia Management Programme (GMP) was launched in 2012 by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) as part of its efforts to develop a strong pipeline of Singaporean managerial talent. The programme provides participants with i) sponsorship (tuition fees support and living allowance) for a full-time MBA programme in a top business school; ii) 2-month internship with a partner company; and iii) 2-year service commitment with a partner company.

The programme is a good opportunity for prospective and current MBA students to work with top MNCs who are leaders in their industries and well-known people developers. Our partner companies (Applied Materials, GlaxoSmithKline, Rolls-Royce) will provide participants with the relevant exposure and experience to accelerate their development as leaders.

For the upcoming run, we are opening applications to Singaporeans in overseas full-time MBA programmes.

Attached are 2 documents for reference:
1)     General information on the GMP
2)     Application form
