I've done this event twice before; once when it was a one-day race (unicycle category won by Yu), and once when it was in this Strava-based enduro format (I won a t-shirt and a four-pack from Federation). Both times it completely kicked my ass. It looks like another ass-kicking course.
You can do it any time between now and October 15. Because it's an enduro format, it's possible to ride together (go as fast as you can on the race segments, regroup for the connecting segments); I'm going to plan to do it on Sunday, October 9, if anyone else is interested. $75 entry fee, proceeds go to the Alameda County Food Bank. (They raised $37K last year. $37K! From an unpermitted event with basically no logistics. Take note, non-profit fundraisers).
All the race segments are predominantly uphill. Some of them will be faster to walk than ride. It's 38km (23 miles). Overall, It sounds like a terrible idea. So, who's in?
