Hi,
I tried creating a new glazing in Optics and saved in the user database, I have followed the manual https://windows.lbl.gov/sites/default/files/applied-film-procedure-2008.pdf
However after saving it, when i open window i cant find the newly created glazing in the library, i try to import it and is not there either. Can someone explain to me how to properly save and load a new glazing created in Optics in Window LBNL?

Thanks

In WINDOW, go to the File menu / Preferences, Optical Data tab, and set the database to "Optics User database", and make sure it is pointing to the correct database.

Then when you are in the Glass Library, click the Import button, set the Format to "IGDB or Optics User Database" and when you click OK, you will be shown the list of records in the Optics user database. Select the record(s) you want to import into the Glass Library, and they will be added.

There are some Eastman films mounted to glass in the existing IGDB Glass Library, starting at number 19744. Perhaps one is close to what you need? Could be more reliable than making a custom glass.

Thank you for your response Robin. I tried to follow your steps, but i still dont see any Optics user created glazing in the list. I am not sure what i am missing. Do i have to save both the layer and the system?

Thanks

I finally managed to solve the problem, everything started to fall in place after I created a new user database in Optics as shown here:
https://www.otm.sg/import-user-igdb-format-file-to-lbnl-optics

For some reason it was not reading the existing user database.

WINDOW does not import glazing systems from Optics, only individual glass layers.

If you need to make new layers for the WINDOW Glass Library, you can potentially do that in Optics, and then import those new glass layers into the WINDOW Glass Library.

Then in the WINDOW Glass Library, you would create the glazing system, using those new glass layers from Optics,
