Gap between shade and glazing

Hello everyone

I hope someone can help me. I'm pretty new using Window, so I don't know what I'm missing.

In short, I tried to model a perforated screen (40%) that is placed 0.60 m in front of a double clear glazing system (13mm air gap). However, a warning appeared when calculating and the idf file generated was empty. I attached a screenshoot of the problem.

Is it posible to include a gap of 60 cm (or wider) between the shade and the glazing?
My aim is to generate an idf file of the system (perforated screen + glazing) to run an energy simulation in Honeybee. But I cannot generate the idf file.

Many thanks in advance.

Can you provide a screenshot of the definition of your shading system?

Hi Robin

Here is an image of the shading system I created with Window.

I also tryed by importing an *.xml file created through Radiance genBSDF command. I attach the file but it didn't work. The calculation suddenly stops and Window closes.
I hope you can help me to figure out what happens.
Many thanks in advance.

The message that appears at the end of the calculation is to let you know that the gap is wider than the correlation equations provide for. But the program still does the calculation, and as the message says, it is probably correct.

In terms of generating the IDF file, I was able to generate the BSDF IDF file, which is what you would want for Energy Plus. Since Honey Bee runs Open Studio, which is basically Energy Plus, this should be what can be used for the input.

I generated the BSDF IDF file from the Glazing System detail view, and it was not empty (the standard IDF will generate an error saying it can't be written because Energy Plus does not support that shading model). I have attached the IDF file that I generated.

Many thanks Robin! I've seen the file, so I can compare yours with mine (if I succeeded).
However, I still worried. I tried again to be sure I exported the idf file as an "EnergyPlus BSDF IDF File" but Window showed the same warning. I cannot even close the warning and the idf file still empty. At the end, I had to close Window LBNL from the task manager.

I need to model different perforated screens, so I'll appreciate if you can help me to figure out why my Window software crashes. I've tried with the 7.6 and 7.7 versions but they are not working.
Many thanks in advance!
