Hello!

This is largely a COMFEN question but I hope to get some help. I created a unique glazing build-up in Optics then imported this to WINDOW 7 to simulate it as a glazing system. I then attempted to import this glazing system to COMFEN and got the following error (image attached):

"Import Error: The selected glazing system has a glass layer ( NFRC ID: 60016 ) that does not exist in the local COMFEN library."

This error seems to occur anytime I try to import a glazing system from WINDOW 7 into COMFEN.

Is this happening because there are glazing components in my glazing system that are not in the IGDB database within COMFEN?

Happy to provide more info as needed! You're help will be appreciated!

Best,
Michael A

Based on the NFRC ID number of the glass layer in question, you created that in Optics and imported it into WINDOW.

Unfortunately, there is not an easy way to import that new glass layer from WINDOW/Optics into COMFEN.

I would advise you to try to find a glass layer in the existing COMFEN Glass Library that most closely matches the new record that you created, and use that.

Thank you very much for the reply, Robin!

If I could ask another questions:  The glazing film product I am interested in simulating is not in the current IGDB database in COMFEN. Is the IGDB database that comes with COMFEN the most recent? I downloaded and installed COMFEN just last week. Perhaps it is and the product I'm interested in has been removed!

Thank you again for your help!

Hi Robin,

I also would like to ask if there is a potential workaround to getting my Optics/WINDOW glazing system into COMFEN that I could employ? Or would this be a very involved/technical process?

Thank you!
Michael
