Designing Sustainable
Materials and Products: Problem Solving for
Society and the Environment, Fall 2014

This new, NSF-funded course examines the challenges and opportunities for designing, producing, and using sustainable materials in industry value chains. The emphasis is on collaboratively developing a new public ethics framework for bringing about transformation toward sustainability in consumer products, buildings, infrastructure and large technological systems more generally, through a focus on materials. Participants will have the chance to help create a systems framework for thinking about green design, with an eye towards publication.
