I got the newest Windows 10, newest VMWare Workstation 15 Player, the newest Unlocker, the newest .vmdk file for Catalina and the newest Catalina .iso so far on the 30th of July 2020.
This right here worked so far perfectly on my AMD PC.
So is this working with vmware 15.5 and windows 10 version 1909? I want to create a new install myself with a mac image. And second question: can i use the same unlocker for older versions of mac osx like Tiger (intel?)
What is your Host OS? Did this VM work fine before? IF so, what changed?
Such as new Windows Updates installed, and/or new Windows 10 OS version, or maybe move to a newer version of VMware Workstation (such as you moved from 15.0.2 or 15.0.3 to 15.1/etc)?
Thanks for the reply. I'm on Windows 10 1903. My Mac VM was working fine on Vmware 15.0.2. When I went to update to Windows 10 1903, Windows actually required me to update Vmware to 15.1, saying that 15.0 was incompatible with it. So then I updated to Vmware 15.1, and then was able to install Windows 10 1903. The VM had been fully shutdown before either of these updates. Now, when I try to boot the Mac VM up, it shows the apple logo, with a progress bar that takes a while to get to the halfway mark or so, and then reboots itself and does until I power it down.
I have tried deleting the .nvram file (which has worked before) but that didn't fix anything. I have also tried unisntalling the unlocker and then putting it back, several times. Neither of these worked.
I was able to grab the latest darwin.iso form the VMware Fusion 11.5 package, which also was released yesterday. On a related note I notice that VMware Fusion 11.5 release notes indicate that macOS 10.15 is supported. So, I suspect that there will not be any problem upgrading a VM to macOS 10.15 in VMware Workstation 15.5.
Donk, not sure of the bet way to send you a note. Thank you for the awesome work with unlocker. VMware workstation player 15.5 looks like it was released today. It appears that unlocker doesn't yet work with 15.5 on Windows (10). Not complaining, just letting you know. My previously created Mojave VMs still boot. There is no option for macOS in the selction menu although exiting machines show that OS in the drop down box. The radio button for macOS isn't there. The only error during the unlocker install is when it tries to download the latest tools. See below. It seems like the URL for downloading tools is no longer valid. IS there any other info I can provide you? **Sorry if you receive this note in your feed as well.
ok, with this patch with small modification vmware workstation 15.5 was successfully unlocked. Catalina installed without problems. But script can not download vmware tools automatically. Here is unlocker.py. Here is compiled unlocker. It was compiled with python 3. I am not python programmer, but patch was a little modified.

Although the program is same for windows and ubuntu, there was one difference which is realted to a patch used to Unlock VMware For Use With Mac OS X Guests. I had downloaded the files for that patch there was files for each OS; Windows, solaries, OSX, Ubuntu 32 and 64 bit
I downloaded the file (macosx_guest_vmware_7.tar.gz) just to see what it contains (in order to help you :-) ). Did you read the README file? Because, it has very clearly given instructions that you need to do in order to this patch to work.
Anyway, as it (README) says, you have to execute the file called "linux" as a super-user. You can become root by typing sudo -i in your terminal emulator (i.e. gnome-terminal etc.) OR else you can temporally take super-user privileges by typing sudo in terminal emulator.
While this isn't exactly the answer you're looking for. Is there any reason to use VMware at all? In the past I used VMware, but later moved to VirtualBox and haven't missed any feature yet, so maybe you could try some other virtualization solution as a workaround to your problem.
I am running vmware workstation 12 pro . VMware unlcoker for vmware12 pro to unlock vmware and run mac osX as guest operation system in it.In terminal type sudo bash lix-install.sh from downloaded file. Now you will have option to install mac osX in vmware 12 pro
Multiple versions of the same packages.
Out of date packages.
Broken or only partially working packages.
Improperly configured packages which download unnecessary dependencies, or do not download necessary dependencies, or both.
Malicious packages (although extremely rare).
If you do do it manually try you will most likely run into library incompatibilities and you will need to compile the kernel modules by hand and this you will have to do it on every subsequent kernel update.
Due to my job and the professional aspect I have used licensed versions but I stopped at v12.5 - and I have not yet met any member on this forum who can clearly explain to me the benefits of VMware over VirtualBox.
here Best way to install vmware workstation - #12 by linux-aarhus

Here is the download link of the working VMware unlocker that supports VMware Workstation versions 11 to 16 (all tested by me) on Windows 10, 11 and older versions 8.1 64- bit and Win 7 32-bit physical computers.Unlocker version 3.0.4The latest unlocker version (3.0.4) released by the developer in February 2022 has several bug fixes and supports the guest macOS version up to macOS 13 (Ventura). Also, this utility works on Windows 11 computers with the latest VMware Workstation Pro (v 16) and Player products. We published a few guides about installing Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion OS X on VMware workstation using this unlocker.
1) Since this tool will be changing and updating the binary files of the VMware workstation, it is always good practice to backup the VMware program folder before executing the unlocker.2) After downloading the zip file, extract it.3) If you have the previous unlocker version, you must uninstall it first.
To do that, right-click on the uninstallation script and execute it as administrator.Note: VMware workstation or player must be completely switched off before running this script.4) Close any working Virtual machines and VMware program. Execute the installation script as administrator.
If you have the older version of the VMware workstation earlier than version 11, you need the older version of the unlocker. Here is working Big Sur 10.16 on Windows 10 with VMware workstation 16.After patching the VMware workstation with this unlocker, the patch is no longer valid if you upgrade the VMware to any major versions. You may not be able to run or create macOS VMs anymore. You need to run the latest unlocker (which has the support of the VMware version you upgraded) to get the macOS virtual machine support again.
In the older versions of unlocker, you may find different sets of files.Right-click on install.cmd file and select Run as administrator option as shown below. Also, you can start the command prompt as administrator on Windows 7 computer and execute install.cmd from the command prompt. Here is the working Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 on VMware workstation 9 with Windows 7 32-bit host after using the unlocker.
