Some topics for this semester/year

Hey all,

I'm listing the results of the brainstorming so far. Thank to all who contributed, and everyone is of course still welcome to carry on and give more suggestions, ideas, and comments! Take this as a start of a discussion...


Topics for peer-to-peer education, tutorials with discussions, demos, or hands-ons:

 * Sharing, licensing, open source, open data, open access, open science, open organisation, etc.

 * Software validation: testing, code review, continuos integration, ...

 * Federated authentication | identity providers (i.e. how to enable users logging in with various external accounts)

 * Virtualisation, containerisation, Docker and Singularity

 * version control, git, GitHub and GitLab, not only for source code

(one idea was having every second meeting with a generic topic, relevant to broad audience, and every second with a deeply technical one)


Outreach and inreach discussions:

 * Reaching out to a broader audience in Bergen

 * Organising an open data (or source) workshop in Bergen (mostly towards science data), anything with data carpentry? software carpentry?

 * Showing results of other comparable community efforts around the planet
