Ilive in a tiny, log house with my family of six. Together, we homeschool and homestead on our 7 acres nestled in Central Pennsylvania. Along with running the farm, I enjoy educating others on sustainable farming practices, gardening and preserving the harvest on my Instagram and Youtube Channel, Little Farm Folk!

If Zelda Wind Waker and Harvest Moon: Light of Hope had a love child, it would be this game. The graphics are fun and animated without losing its integrity, while the music is whimsical and childlike. The trailer began with happy sheep bleating in the distance and allowed viewers to really get a taste for what Farm Folks is all about. There was farming, animal raising, mining, fishing, and making friends with the locals. All while the seasons changed from a bright happy summer, to a silent yet beautiful snowy winter.
As far as I am concerned, every farming simulator deserves a special place in my heart and Farm Folks is no exception. I look forward to seeing the finished product and desperately hope the fishing aspect is easier than in Stardew Valley. The one aspect I am looking forward to the most? Two words, unicorn cows. I mean look at them, they are the cutest things in the galaxy. Overall, farmers everywhere will lay down their sickles and pick up a controller to play Farm Folks.
After washing ashore on Softshoal Island, you are given a chance at a new life. A plot of land awaits your green thumb to transform it into a booming farm, and a new world beckons you to explore its secrets.
There are a lot of people to meet in the town of Port Meridia and in the wild, and to forge a relationship with them. You will celebrate festivals and lastly, you can customise your farm and your character!
Farm Folks is an upcoming agricultural simulation built on Unreal Engine 4, and is developed by Australian developer, Overgrown. Farm Folks is inspired by games such as Harvest Moon, where the player takes on the role of a farmer by growing crops and raising livestock. It is slated for official release in 2019 for the PC, with plans for release to the consoles at a future date.
Farm Folks is set in a fictional location of Port Meridia on the island of Softshoal, where the player was washed ashore from a vicious storm. On the island, the player is given a plot of land for agricultural purposes, such as growing crops and raising livestock. The player can befriend the inhabitants of Softshoal Island, including Mayor Snodgrass, Della, Gilbert, and Lenorah. Other activities include mining and fishing.
Development of the game started on Unity and was pushed out for pre-Alpha in 2017, until the game was taken down from the Humble store. A year and a half later, the developers completely rebuilt the game on a new engine and with better style, becoming financially successful within the first seven days.[1]
We have supported and built capacity for organic vegetable seed production across the province since 2006. Our various workshops, field days, and on-farm research aim to engage farmers, citizen growers, and academia in seed growing and saving.
Farm Folks is an open-world co-op farming and life simulator game. Unleash your imagination, build, automate, and customize every detail of your farm. Grow crops, nurture animals, and befriend locals to cultivate the ultimate sim experience.
Farm Folks offers a delightful mix of RPG and farming mechanics, giving you the freedom to get lost in the world while you build a farm from the ground up. There are many friends to be made, many crops and animals to tend, and a whole island to discover. What are you waiting for?
it's our goal to introduce somewhere around 60 juicy crops for our players to rake in that sweet, sweet digital profit. Crops and other grow-ables will be divided into 4 categories - spring, summer, fall, and winter. This means certain crops can only be grown in specific times of the year, read more on farming below.
Animals are an important part of any world, giving the land life and personality. Plus, they're just dang cute! The animals and critters of Farm Folks are a big part of our game, and we want to make sure that the player feels a strong bond with their pets and livestock.
Otto, the local fisherman of Port Meridia, would call it a crime if you couldn't bait your rod and cast it to the blue in a place like this! Fishing is one of the most relaxing activities in Softshoal, and a popular pastime in Port Meridia thanks to the surrounding seas and rivers.
All crops need basic care, but they'll need special attention to produce the best yield. You'll need to learn which type of fertilizer and water each crop loves best. Some crops grant special bonuses to others around them, adding an element of strategy to crop composition and farm layout.
You also will have a place to create building presets and share them with other players online. This way, players that would love to build buildings at once can save a lot of time and grinding by placing packaged building blocks (this system will see the light a bit later in development).
You can start farming anywhere you want! By selecting the hoe tool, you can start making plots and planting crops. We also designed modular planters that come with 3 height variations: low, medium, and high. These planters can be placed indoors or outdoors. When you place a single planter, it becomes a single flower pot. However, by merging a few planters together, you can build unique shapes and create beautiful green ferns or even a maze!
My name is Alex Koshelkov and I am the Video Game Director and Founder of Crytivo. Crytivo is an independent game developer and publisher located in Dallas, Texas. Our aim is to bring unique ideas and concepts to the gaming industry and provide players with an engaging and enjoyable experience. For the developers we work closely with, our goal is to expand both their reach and business possibilities as their games develop and eventually release into the world.
My journey in game development began in 2013 when I discovered the platform that could bring my ideas to life: Kickstarter. In 2014, I launched a Kickstarter campaign for a game called The Universim, where I presented the concept of a game where you play as a god and guide a new species through different eras on procedurally generated planets. The campaign was a great success and raised nearly $400,000 within 30 days.
I have always been a creative artist. I have had the privilege of working with renowned companies such as Sony, Universal Studios, Disney, and Apple. In the heyday of YouTube back in 2012, I was a content creator who produced time-lapse videos in Photoshop. Some of my favorite videos included epic events such as an airplane crash on a highway and pirate ship battles. My videos gained widespread attention and garnered millions of views and followers. This platform helped me to share new ideas with my fans and bring attention to The Universim Kickstarter campaign.
Crytivo was founded in 2014 with the launch of The Universim Kickstarter campaign. At that time, we were a game development company. Due to our success during the campaign, we were approached by numerous indie developers in the following years. We were happy to share our experience and, in 2018, we expanded our company to become an indie game publisher. This February marks our 5th year on this new journey and it has been an exciting ride.
We have a strong fondness for crowdfunding our games as it is ingrained in our company's roots. We are the largest indie game publisher on Kickstarter with over 20 successful campaigns and a 90% success rate. Kickstarter allows us to maintain a fair revenue share with our partners and acts as a valuable tool for community building and game marketing. Crytivo stands behind every project we launch on Kickstarter and is ready to support young developers in bringing their projects to life.
Farm Folks is a solarpunk life simulation game that allows players to build their own farms from scratch. It's the second game I'm directing and is developed in-house by Crytivo. Our aim is to make this game something special by bringing together popular genres and expanding its potential.
The original plan was for Farm Folks to be a simple farming game with a cute art style. However, we wanted to elevate the game to be a truly unique experience that allows players to creatively express themselves, even in ways they perhaps never anticipated. Drawing inspiration from games such as The Sims, Satisfactory, and My Time at Portia, we started with the customization and explored additional features that would complement the farming aspect of the game. Our first customization prototype involved couches and allowed players to alter every detail such as size, materials, pattern, and color.
To enhance the farming experience, we focused on optimization and automation. While the traditional farming game mechanics of planting, growing, and selling crops are present, we wanted to offer more opportunities for players to explore, have fun with friends, complete quests, and compete with each other. To achieve this, we introduced the concept of automating repetitive tasks and optimizing the delivery of resources. In Farm Folks, players will be able to automate certain tasks, mix and match crops to grow unique ones, and optimize resource delivery using futuristic methods. All while exploring the in-game world and discovering new and exciting secrets within.
We use Unity's HDRP and its related built-in tools, as well as some custom tools and a lot of custom shaders to craft our world both physically and visually. The game world itself consists of several islands of varying sizes, surrounded by a large ocean.
