Youcan log into My Tesco Mobile and under the Details tab on the left hand menu, you will find both the PIN code and the PUK code for your SIM card. You can also log into the My Tesco Mobile App for Android or Apple and under Personal Details, you will find both the PIN code and the PUK code for your SIM card. Alternatively, you can contact us and we can retrieve this for you.

A mobile phone will ask for the PUK code if the PIN number has been entered incorrectly more than 3 times.

The PUK code is located on the back of the booklet that came with your new SIM card. It can also be found by logging into the My Tesco Mobile App and under Personal Details Under PUK details, you will find both the PIN code and the PUK code for your SIM card.

Alternatively, you can contact us and we can retrieve this for you.

If the display shows 'PIN blocked' or 'Enter PUK', you or someone else may have entered your phones PIN incorrectly three times. You will need your PUK code to unlock your phone. When you first bought your Tesco Mobile phone or SIM card, you would have received details of your PUK. If you no longer have that then call Customer Care on 1749 from your Tesco Mobile (calls cost 20c regardless of duration) or on 089 420 0000 from any other phone (costs from other providers will vary). You can also log onto your account to retrieve your PUK code.

If the PUK code is entered incorrectly 10 times, you will get the error message. You will then need a SIM card replacement. Please call to your nearest Tesco store or order a new SIM card online.

Once you have the SIM card, please contact us on 1749 or pop into your local Tesco Phone Shop and we can transfer your number to the new SIM.

I've recently just switched to tesco mobile and wanted to keep my number from EE I did the switch over with my number and PAC code and my number that I wanted to keep has now disconnected and says No Service but on the new sim that number was supposed to switch to it's still the tesco number and it doesn't seem to be changing over. Tesco mobile informed me that I have to contact EE regarding this. Thanks

Any advice would be appreciated with this strange problem as O2 tech help seems to be struggling to fix the issue. I have now been without O2 service for nearly two weeks and despite having logged the problem with the online contact us, travelled 25 miles to my nearest O2 shop and asked for the issue to be escalated, I am still waiting for a resolution. Here are the details:

Thanks so much for your reply. Yes spoke to Tesco in the early days who said the account as all closed down and therefore the sim should not be active and they could not advise further. Think I may have to just sit this one out until the o2 tech team (hopefully) resolve it. Thanks again

Have you had any luck? I'm having a nightmare with my new sim and getting my old number and the agents are useless now been 6 days unable to call or recieve calls. Apparently went escalation team they couldn't fix it, then it went to the higher up tech. The agent said today it was fixed and it will work anytime today. It's now 23.18 and still not changed!

I'm glad you managed to fix the issue! I had went into tesco mobile to see if there was anything they could do but they said they were unable to do anything. My sim number was changed on the 5th, so that's now 11 days and nothing. I know tesco is interlinked with o2, so I might try going to see them and see if they can do the same. So you managed to get your previous number back?

Tesco Mobile Limited is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. It is operated by British retailer Tesco, using the network O2 as its carrier except in Ireland, where the network operator is Three Ireland.

Tesco Mobile was established in May 2003[4] and launched pre-paid mobile services in Tesco stores and online by the end of the year.[5] In January 2014, the network in the United Kingdom started offering 4G service, for its pay monthly and SIM only customers at no extra cost, extending the service to pay as you go customers in July of that year.[6][7]

In December 2006, Tesco Ireland announced that it would enter into a joint venture with O2 Ireland to offer mobile telecommunications services.[10] The service, which was Ireland's second MVNO (the defunct Cellular 3 having been the first), used the O2 network but operates separately. It has been allocated the area code 089. As with Tesco's mobile service of the United Kingdom, it is branded Tesco Mobile.[10] The network commenced operation in 2007. Tesco Mobile had 375,000 customers in Ireland as of August 2017.

In March 2015, after it was announced that Three had purchased O2's Irish operations, it was announced that the O2 Ireland network would close and that the O2 website, shops and network would merge into Three Ireland. As a result, Tesco Mobile Ireland moved from the O2 network to the Three network. Since August 2018, Tesco Mobile customers can access Three masts, which means that they can now avail of 4G as well as increased 3G coverage.

In December 2009, Tesco Stores SR announced that it would enter into a joint venture with Telefnica Slovakia to offer mobile telecommunications services. The service, which is Slovakia's second MVNO (the naymobile having been the first), uses the O2 network but operates separately.

Tesco Mobile Hungary was a 50:50 joint venture, providing Tesco Mobile branded services in Hungary through Tesco stores and online, using Vodafone's technology and network. Services were ended in April 2016, and the service was taken over by Vodafone.[11]
