Ok so I continued the Vinh's tutorial and the xml data showed when i
put in an updown counter

any reason why it didnt show before that? Would it affect the long
run?

Hi Thorinc,

Not too sure what you mean, but it seems like you are asking why your
graph didn't go through each line of data? and only returned the first
line?
The reason why I used an updown counter is to specify "GetChildAt"
which needs an index number. So if you want the 1st child, we need to
getChildAt "1". If we want the 2nd child, we need to getChildAt "2".
etc.

To answer the question in your first post regarding nothing happening
when you press "n" using that flowgraph...there are a few things I see
that could cause the problem. 1) Your xml file has (comments in
brackets). This might cause a "fail" when opening. So turn on debug
and see if your graph gets past the first XML:OpenDocument Node. 2)
file location, check that it is in your mod folder. 3) you won't get
more than the first line of data anyways, since you need to increment
GetChildAt index.

I think the problem is your comments in brackets, for example
(attribute).
Without the up down counter you are reading the first value only and
since it has a comment at the end of it that isn't consistant with xml
it will fail to read it.
When you add the up down counter, I think what you will be getting is
still nothing on the first value, but when you increase the counter to
2 you will read the second value as it doesn't have a comment after
it. If you remove your comments in brackets the flowgraph should
function properly.
If you want to leave comments in an xml this is the format:
<!-- this is a comment -->
Cheers
Jules
