Speaker Biographies


Maulana Ibrahim Memon

Shaikh Ibrahim Memon Madani was born in the blessed city of the Prophet  image, Madinah Munawarrah, where he began his Hifz al Qur?an and study of hadith.  As a young boy, he attended the lessons of the great Shaikh ul-Hadith, Shaikh Zakariya rahmatullahi alayh, winning his adoration and duas.

In 1980, upon instruction of Shaikh Zakariya rahmatullahi alayh, he left for England to study at Darul-Uloom Holocombe where he completed his Hifz ul-Qur'an and Aalim course.

In 1987, he moved to Waterloo, Canada to serve as Imam of the masjid.  Four years later, he moved to Buffalo with his father and brothers to help establish Darul-Uloom Al-Madania.

In 1993, Hazrat Sufi Iqbal rahmatullahi alayh  (a beloved student of the late Shaikh Zakariya rahmatullahi alayh) granted him Ijazah for Bai?yah.

Since 1991, Shaikh Ibrahim has been serving as an Imam for the Islamic Society of Niagara Frontier, and a teacher of Arabic, Fiqh, Hadith, and Tafseer at Darul-Uloom Al-Madania. He regularly lectures at colleges, churches, and Masajid all over the United States and abroad.

Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar

Shaykh Husain [may Allah preserve him] was born in Chicago (USA) in 1972.  After completing his primary education at schools in his hometown near Chicago, he joined the University of Chicago where he studied Biology, Arabic and Islamic Civilization.  It was during this period that he began his study of sacred knowledge, studying Arabic grammar (nahw), Hanafi Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh under ulama (scholars) in Chicago.  In 1994 Shaykh Husain also began training in tasawwuf (Islamic spirituality) under Shaykh Zuliqar Ahmed, one of the leading shaykhs of tasawwuf.

After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Shaykh Husain enrolled in the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago.  Along with his medical studies, he continued his studies of sacred knowledge.  In his final year he took leave from medical school to focus on his religious studies, traveling to Syria and then Pakistan, where he studied a traditional curriculum for a number of years under some of their greatest scholars.

Throughout his years of study, Shaykh Husain continued his training under Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad.  He was blessed with the close company of his Shaykh, learning the science of the purification of the heart.  The deep taqwa and firm adherence to the sunnah and Shariah that characterized his teacher were eventually transferred to the student and Shaykh Husain was formally authorized in tasawwuf by Shaykh Zulfiqar in July 2001.

Shaykh Husain has completed medical school and currently works as a Physician at the University of Chicago Hospitals.  During his free time, he teaches and lectures across the United States on various subjects of Islamic knowledge, including purification of the soul. 

Mufti Minhajuddin Ahmed

Mufti Minhajuddin has studied under some of the world's greatest scholars, receiving several formal authorizations in the sacred sciences with top honors. His commitment to the sacred sciences began early in his life when Allah blessed him with the ability, by age 10, to complete the memorization of the Holy Quran. He also received authorizations in various recitations of the Holy Quran. Next, he completed a rigorous 8-year Alim course at Darul Uloom Zakariya where he achieved mastery in the Islamic sciences, which included but was not limited to, language, exegesis (tafseer) and jurisprudence (fiqh). Following graduation, he earned authorizations in Islamic Legal Verdicts and Hadith under the Grand Mufti of South Africa- Shaykh Raza-ul-Haq. He has also traveled and lectured throughout the Islamic world. He is now Imam at Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis

Maulana Nabeel Khan

Shaykh Nabeel Khan was raised in the Bay Area of northern California. At the tender age of 12, he went to Pakistan to memorize the Quran. By the grace of Allah, he completed the memorization of the Quran at the age of 13 at the famous Qur?an school of the great Shaykh and scholar, Shah Hakeem Akthar (may Allah lengthen his life), Ashraful Madaris, whereupon he returned to the United States and went on to complete his high school education.

Shaykh Nabeel later attended San Jose State University, majoring in computer science. Afterwards, he traveled to South Africa, where he studied Islamic studies at the famous Islamic seminary, Darul Uloom Azaadville, for four years. He also studied at Darul Uloom London in the U.K.
BR> Shaykh Nabeel studied privately for three years under the tutelage of his teacher, Sheikh Mumtaz ul Haq Nazir, a prominent student of the great muhaddith, Allamah Yusuf al-Binnuri (rahmatullahi alaihi). He is currently the Imam and Director of the Islamic Center of Central Missouri, which he joined in January of 2006.

Maulana Omar Hussaini

Maulana Omar was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. By the tawfiq of Allah (swt), in his early teenage years, he and his brother set off to the basement of the house of Maulana Abdullah Saleem to become from amongst the first students at IIE. After completing his hifz, he continued to complete his high school education, placing amongst the highest in the nation in national exams.
Thereafter, Maulana Omar gained admittance to the prestigious University of Illinois at Chicago's GPPA Program (a seven year guaranteed professional progarm in medicine). While attending high school and college, Maulana Omar returned back to IIE on a part-time basis to begin his Alim couse. Maulana Omar received his B.A. in Psychology a M.D. degree both from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Prior to his final semester in medical school, Maulana Omar, along with his family, left for Darul Uloom Zakariyya in South Africa. During this time, Maulana Omar completed the final year of his alim course, placing within the top five students of his class. He graduated both from his alim course and his medical school in 2006.
Currently, Maulana Omar resides on the north side of Chicago with his wife and three children, where he also serves as a teacher in the Sacred Learning Individual Study Program(www.sacredlearning.org).

Maulana Bilal Ali

Sheikh Bilal Ali Ansari was born, raised, and educated in Chicago, IL. After completing his high school education in 1998, he studied two years of computer engineering at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL. Later, his desire for Islamic knowledge drove him to the Indian subcontinent, where he decided to pursue a higher education in Islamic studies.
Sheikh Bilal started his Islamic studies at Jamiat al-Husanain in Faisalabad, Pakistan where he benefited greatly from the company and teachings of its principal and founder, the famous orator and daee of Islam, Maulana Tariq Jameel. There, he spent nearly four years in the company and service of his beloved and talented teacher, Sheikh Ramzi al-Habib al-Tunisi al-Maliki, and it was there that he studied most of the major sciences of Islam, including Arabic grammar, literature, balaghat, logic, aqidah, fiqh, usul al-fiqh, iftaa, inheritance laws, tafseer, uloom al-Quran, uloom al-hadith, and some of the principal books of hadith
Later, he traveled to Karachi and enrolled at the famous Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi where he completed his hadith studies under prominent scholars of fiqh and hadith, such as Mufti Muhammad Taqi Uthmani, Mufti Muhammad Rafee Uthmani, Mufti Mahmud Ashraf Uthmani, Mufti Abdur Rauf Sikharwi, Maulana Abdullah Burmi, Maulana Iftikhar Ahmed Azami, among others
After graduation from the last year of hadith studies (dawrat al-hadith), Sheikh Bilal enrolled in a specialization course in hadith and studied the intricacies of the science under Allamah Dr. Abdul Haleem Numani (Chishti), the brother of the famous hadith researcher Allamah Abdur Rasheed Numani (rahmatullahi alaihi). He is currently working on completing his thesis in hadith studies.
Aside from his hadith ijazahs from Mufti Muhammad Taqi Uthmani and other ulama of Darul Uloom Karachi, Sheikh Bilal Ali also has ijazahs in hadith from some of the most senior ulama of Pakistan, namely Maulana Saleemullah Khan, Maulana Sarfaraz Khan Safdar, Maulana Abdul Haleem Numani, and Maulana Khan Muhammad. >BR?

Currently, Maulana Bilal Ali Ansari is teaching the darse nizami shariah course full-time at the Mahad Taleem al-Islam (Institute of Islamic Education, Elgin IL). He also teaches part-time at the College Preparatory School of America, a Muslim high school located in Lombard, IL. Alongside his involvement in a number of Islamic community activities, he also serves as director and part-time imam of al-Mustafa Masjid in Westmont, IL.

Mufti Azeemuddin Ahmed

Mufti Azeemuddin was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. After completing hifz, he went on to complete a rigorous 8-year Alim and 'Ifta course at Darul Uloom Zakaria in Johannesburg, South Africa based on the traditioonal Darse-Nizami cirriculum of Islamic education, under some of the world's greatest scholars such as Mufti Raza-ul-Haq. Following his graduation with top honors, Mufti Azeemuddin earned authorizations in the Islamic sciences, which included but was not limited to, Arabic language, Exegesis (Tafseer), Hadeeth, and Jurisprudence (Fiqh). He is currently Imam at AIA Masjid in Frankfort, IL and also does private classes. He is currently pursuing a B.A. Honours Degree in Islamic Studies from Univeristy of Johannesburg.
