When agents arrived at his home early one morning to execute a search warrant, they had to pry him from his laptop, which was in the process of downloading a child porn video from a Tor web site called OPVA, or Onion Pedo Video Archive. In addition to child porn images stored on his computer, authorities also found evidence of his Tor browser history, showing some of his activity at PedoBook and OPVA.

Easy Pickled Red Onion is a fantastic condiment for a variety of dishes, from Mexican to Asian cuisine and everything in between! Quickly zapped in the microwave, you can store this garnish in a refrigerated container for several weeks.

I resolved to recreate a pickled red onion condiment at home to keep in the fridge. Then I could pull it out as a relish for steak, burgers, Asian dishes, Mexican dishes, Caribbean dishes, and more. I sometimes eat it over rice.

I've used my easy pickled red onion relish for several years now. I included it with a couple of other recipes, like my Crockpot Banh Mi Sandwiches and One-Pan Arroz con Pollo. I finally decided to give Easy Pickled Red Onion its very own recipe. It was feeling left out.

I often substitute granulated Splenda for the sugar to cut down the carbs and calories. I haven't tried honey or agave nectar, but I suspect that these would both work splendidly (just keep in mind that it may not be a 1:1 substitution).

I don't have a microwave though, but I assume if I were to make a jar in the morning, it would be ready by dinner time in the evening? Or would I do better to very quickly blanch the onions in the vinegar and sugar before putting into the jar? xx

Thanks so much, Nico! Great questions! You can absolutely just shake everything in the jar: it will be ready several hours later and continue to improve as it cures. Or, you could do a quick blanch in the vinegar and sugar to have them done really quickly.

Operation Torpedo was a 2011 operation in which the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) compromised three different hidden services hosting child pornography, which would then target anyone who happened to access them using a network investigative technique (NIT).

The operation started after Dutch law enforcement compromised a hidden service called Pedoboard, and found it was physically located at a Nebraska web hosting company.[1][2] The ensuing FBI investigation found that an employee, Aaron McGrath, was operating two child pornography sites at his work and one at his home. After a year of surveillance, the FBI arrested McGrath and took control of his three sites (PedoBoard, PedoBook, TB2) for a two-week period starting in November 2012.[3]

The FBI seized access to the web sites after his arrest and continued to run them for a two week period. During this time the websites (onion services) were modified to serve up a NIT in what is termed a "watering hole attack", which would attempt to unmask visitors by revealing their IP address, operating system and web browser. The NIT code was revealed as part of the case USA v Cottom et al. Researchers from University of Nebraska at Kearney and Dakota State University reviewed the NIT code and found that it was an Adobe Flash application that would ping a user's real IP address back to an FBI controlled server, rather than routing their traffic through the Tor network and protecting their identity. It used a technique from Metasploit's "decloaking engine" and only affected users who had not updated their Tor web browser.[4][5][6][7] An investigation by The Daily Dot claimed that the NIT was created by former part-time employee of The Tor Project and Vidalia developer Matthew Edman and was internally known as "Cornhusker".[8]

The formation of (and participation in) support groups to help individuals deal with unique medical or psychological conditions is a common occurrence in the United States. These groups help to build solidarity for individuals who once felt isolated, stories and anecdotes can be shared, and potential solutions or coping strategies can be imparted based upon similar experiences. These groups therefore provide an environment that is sensitive to the experiences and conditions that can stoke consternation and grief in everyday life.

Steve Silberman meticulously documented how the right group for those with autism can diminish the stresses experienced in a culture that has struggled to understand this neurodiversity. The number of support groups is endless, and they range from assisting victims of aggression, helping those suffering from debilitating and terminal illnesses, assisting those with neurological or psychological differences, and helping those who experienced extreme weather devastation. The point is that the support is there because there is a difference that majorities of people do not experience (or do not actively address), and this generates adaptation or standard of living concerns.

Technically, anything that meets this description generates the need of a support group, where measures can be addressed to help individuals onto a path that allows them to make the most of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. From a mental health perspective, this is often accompanied by movements that push for culture to accept neurodiversity as personality differences, moving away from the stigmas of disorders.

However, there are at least two groups that by definition fall under the neurodiversity banner, which are problematic; psychopaths and pedophiles. While there is no unified neurological profile that can within an acceptable level of error capture all those that meet the diagnostic criteria for each condition, many studies have identified neurological differences; although, there is much diversity within psychopathy and within pedophilia, which make it hard to suggest unifying neurological differences, and behavior is diverse, too.

The behavior of both psychopaths and pedophiles can often be catastrophic, and could pose a serious threat to those who interact with them. For other neurodiverse conditions, individuals are taught to learn and structure their lives in a way that works with their set of differences; this clearly cannot be encouraged with psychopaths and pedophiles. In fact, if either of these groups wished to exercise their right for self-determination, as certain pedophile groups often have, society will push back. Support groups for pedophiles tend to focus on encouraging them to control their desires and drives, although the success rate remains questionable.

For psychopathy and pedophilia, therefore, neurodiversity is met with the need for resistance and legal protections that inhibit destructive and antisocial behavior which can result from their neurodiversity. This makes them unique from other neurodiverse conditions, and so therefore needs to be acknowledged and addressed in discussions that seek to encourage acceptance of neurodiversity. This may seem obvious, but arguments looking to support self determination based upon diversity need to be taken seriously, not in the least because there are exceptions.

The global use of the Internet also generated a need for anonymous online interactions, for military personnel but also for journalists and representatives of political and religious minorities living under autocratic regimes. To serve this need, the US Navy developed the first prototypes for The Onion Router (TOR) as early as the 1990s. In 2002, TOR became publicly available, providing a network of thousands of servers that can be used to obscure the identity of its users. TOR encrypts the online traffic, by rerouting the IP address of the user through randomly chosen servers making it nearly impossible to trace it back to its original address. TOR quickly increased its popularity in 2008 after the launch of its browser version that can be downloaded on computers or smartphones making it easily available to the wider public.

While the darknet is heralded for playing a key role in boosting social movements, the anonymity of TOR also provides home to a broad array of criminal marketplaces, where users sell and buy illicit products and services, from arms, drugs, and hacked credit cards to hitmen and human organ donors. Infamous HSes marketplaces like Silk Road and Alphabay serve hundreds of thousands of online customers. They mirror the workings of legal marketplaces on the clearnet, such as Ebay, and facilitate vendors in advertising their product and offer escrow services to customers paying for their purchases in Bitcoin or other crypto currencies. Many marketplaces also have chat forums that vendors and customers alike use to introduce themselves and their products, review their experiences, and provide feedback and tutelage to others in the online community.

Being in the wake of the sexual revolution, the climate toward adults having sexual relationships with minors in the 1970s and early 1980s was more open than it is now, but even then sexual attraction to underaged children was generally viewed as atypical. During those times, persons attracted to minors congregated in support groups where fantasies were openly discussed among the like-minded attendants. Typically, to avoid the attention of law enforcement, organizers of such support groups ensured no child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was openly exchanged during these meetings. Although illegal, those interested in CSAM could, however, resort to adult book shops selling dedicated magazines, or order periodicals containing sexually explicit images of underaged children by surface mail. Fueled by several highly mediatized cases of child sexual abuse, public opinion and law enforcement practice during the 1990s tilted toward a much less tolerant stance. In response, many local support clubs were disbanded, and adult book shops narrowed their range of products to avoid prosecution.
