Ben,
today was a banner day. Two clients, both picked up through Ben's Gigs made their first payments on their projects. One is the biggest single gig I've ever had.

I'm definitely still using it, though I've noticed I've begun to receive a daily avalanche, lately. Have you changed the filters lately?
I've only scored one small job, so far, but it's certainly helping to point me in the right direction.

I have had my head down in moving and other pursuits that I've been wondering if it's even still working for anyone.

I don't know if it's a pattern, per se. I just noticed today that I received about 400 leads in a span of about 3 days.

I'm not gonna lie, I haven't gotten a single follow through, and I get about 30 emails a day.
Then again, I'm looking for design work on craig's, so I get what I deserve.

So am I. So far the two gigs I mentioned today have us doing all the art for an indie video game for the Iphone and an eight page brochure for a manufacturing company.
Don't give up. I answer a lot of ads too.

I've gotten tons of work from Ben's Gigs. Most are pretty small, just things like logos and such. I'm not making a ton of money because I don't charge much -- just getting started out in freelance -- but it's been a great way to make some extra cash while building my portfolio. I've found the key is to keep an eye on leads coming in and pounce on a job as soon as it gets listed. Being one of the first responders REALLY improves your chances of geting the job.
