Hello Swimmer Friends,
Thank you all for joining the Bennington Area
Masters Swim list. I am so glad to see that there is a group of people
going to an upcoming meet with Mike -- Hooray!
For the last several months, attendance at our
Tuesday night workouts has been thin, usually between one and four people.
I'm a little concerned that if we don't get higher participation, then we will
lose the slot at the pool.
One thing we've learned is that
having someone at your level to do a workout with is both fun and
satisfying. To that end, I want to officially introduce you to everyone
else on the list. Below are all the people who are on the list, and
(roughly) their various levels (please don't take offense if I have put you in
the wrong level). I want to encourage you all to be in touch with one
another either via the google groups list or independently if you are looking
for someone to swim with or want to check in to see if someone at your level
will be at practice. Either Jill, Mike or I usually prepare two workouts (a
Level II and Level III).
Level I: This group usually does their
own workout or a modified Level II workout. Some are getting back into the pool
after a long-ish break, or haven't been in the pool for a
while.
Level II: Used to or capable of doing an
organized workout, usually around 2500-3000 yards
Level III: Used to doing an organized
workout, usually around 3500 yards. These folks are fast and/or working on
really long distances.
Unknown: Come to practice soon and swim
with us!
So that's all for now, and I hope there
will be loads of people at practice on Tuesday. Jill and I will both be
there.
