Dear Mike,
The Vermont Senior Games is holding its annual swimming meet on Sunday, June 8th, in Williston, VT. It’s over a month earlier than usual to avoid the summer schedule jam-up. Would you please tell your swimmers who will be 50 years old (or older) by the end of this year?
This year we are not requiring registration ahead of time. They can register when they come if they aren’t sure until the last minute. Deckside registration is between 8:00 and 8:30 am.
If they want to register in advance they can sign up by paper form (attached) or by going to the Vermont Senior Games website at http://www.vermontseniorgames.org. All information is on the form. If they use the paper form they should also sign the required waiver on the back.
Our swim meet is fairly low key, and those who do not normally swim competitively should not hesitate to come. It will be fun, and they might enjoy getting a time to try to beat next year.
For those who are interested, 2014 is the qualifying year for the 2015 National Senior Games in Minneapolis. Those who place 1-4 in an event within their age group this year are eligible (no matter what their time was) to swim in the National Games next year in the same event(s).
Attached is a registration form and also a flyer which you can post at your pool. More registration forms can be found on our website for swimming or any of our other summer events.
Thanks very much for any help you can give us in getting the word out!
