Château de La Hulpe
I took this photo in La Hulpe near Brussels,
Belgium. The "La Hulpe Castle" was
built in 1842 and overlooks
nearly 220 hectares of meadows, woods and
ponds on the edge of the nearby Soignes forest. The
old Solvay field is
a splendid extension of the forest and has some remarkable trees. It is
a
beautiful place for walking and relaxation. So much green, so much
blue...
I want to dedicate this photo to my friend
Giovanni Buzi
who passed away a few days
ago. Giovanni was an Italian Painter, Writer
and Teacher and first of all a creative
and free person. When I see the
tree in this photo, I see him. RIP
Crocuses
Taken some 3 weeks ago in Lille, France. These crocuses were really tiny, a
few centimeters may be.
I used a simple 70 mm lens but enhanced the
whole image in Photoshop CS4 afterwards.
Several hours of work to get
the results I wanted. The picture is not reframed, it
actually is a
montage of several of my photos. There is no specific meaning in this image.
The main thing I wanted to
express when I took the photos is the way fragile little things
can
appear big and strong sometimes, and beautiful of course. But your
own
interpretation is more important. (

I Hear the Birds Sing
I took this in Kenya and just edited it a few days ago, enhancing the light effects, details, composition... (

Give Me Some Fresh Air !
A scenery I captured in Portugal. This is a "composite image".
A "
composite image" is a picture that is
made from the combination of multiple
images
merged into a single surface. It often generates interesting
and weird surreal effects.
Call this
"manipulation" or
"montage" if you wish. (

Anti-Fascism !
This is a photo of a well known graffiti I took 2 years ago in
Coimbra, Portugal. It just says it all in such a great minimalist way!
Anti-Fascism, Anti-Nazism, Anti-Racism... We must never forget the past.
That Teddy is in Real Trouble
I found that in a street of Brussels a few days ago, kind of scary and
disgusting, I know,
but this is so unusual that I wanted to share it... (

Cool Museum
Revelation
I took the 2 above photos in the
"Palais des Beaux Arts" of Lille,
France. I just added the sky in the first image to give
a surreal
atmosphere, as if it was an open roof. For some unknown reason, there
was a canvas missing on
the wall of one of the exhibition rooms (second
shot). A great moment for my camera...
The
Palais des Beaux-Arts of Lille is thought to be the largest general
interest museum in France after the Louvre.
The collections are the
object of worldwide renown and provide a comprehensive over view
of the
great artistic movements of Europe from the 12th to the 20th century.
I took this photo some time ago in
one of the nature reserves in Kenya
(when you get a chance, also have a look at my
"Paths" and "The Freedom Theme" sets on Flickr)
