Durga Pujo 2019 - Call For Performance

Hi All,
With a few weeks left ,we all are very excited to celebrate Bengalis in Chicago's 13th Durgotsav scheduled on Oct 19 & Oct 20.  As always, we would love to request your participation for our cultural program. If you or your child or friends and family wish to dance, sing, recite etc. during the Pujo celebrations, please email the following details to this email id by Sep 27. This is a hard deadline.

In the email please mention your full name, kind of performance and the intended day and duration of the performance.  Please note that for this event we would like to encourage different kinds and genres of songs/dance/skit performances. If you have any interesting ideas please share that with us :) 

The final duration of the performance and the day on which your performance will be scheduled is the sole discretion of the BIC committee. We might request you to change the duration depending upon the number of participants. Once, we receive all the emails from participants the committee will decide the slot for the performances. If you have any issues with the scheduling, you can always contact us via email and we will try our best to see what we can do on our end, but please do not ask BIC members personally to make the changes. If we cannot accommodate your request, please know that it is not feasible. We want everyone to be a part of the family and have some fun. 

This year we are planning to organize an antakshari or musical quiz on Sunday, Oct 20. For that purpose, we might have to limit the number of performances this year. If we are going ahead with that, we will probably arrange a sort of audition on Oct 4-5. Details of that will be posted soon.

Please remember, even if you have told someone from the BIC committee, in person, without your official email sent to this id we won't be able to accommodate you.

Some of you have already sent an email, which we appreciate and look forward to your performances. Once the deadline is over we will email the schedule and final duration of the performances to the participants.

Everyone performing during Durga Pujo must register for the event. In case of kids, one full registration from a parent is mandatory.

Please share this information with your friends as well, in case we missed them out.

                          This is a gentle reminder to send in your interest to perform during our Durga Pujo on Oct 19 and Oct 20. 

Like every year, we already have amazing responses this year as well. Hence, we are extending the deadline, to send in your emails, to Oct 4. Please be reminded that this is a hard deadline and we cannot accommodate anyone who send their emails beyond this date.
