“Kheyal,” UChicago’s Bengali students’ association, welcomes you to a new term at the University of Chicago!
We will soon host our Durgotsav celebrations, on October 19th and 20th, at the Ida Noyes Theater. Our attraction this year is a hand-made Durga idol, 6 feet high, from a renowned sculptor in Kumortuli, Kolkata.
Our theme for this year is “Sekaler O Ekaler Pujo.” This will be the very first “Theme Pujo” in Chicago!
Our tentative schedule is:
October 19th:
Pushpanjali and prasad: 1:30 pm – 3 pm (free for all!/RSVP)
Fun and games: 3:30 – 4:30 pm (free for all!)
Cultural Night: 6 – 8 pm (free for all!/RSVP)
Dinner: 8 pm (register on Eventbrite)
October 20th:
Bhog: 12:30 – 2 pm (free for all!/RSVP)
Kheyal’s Pujo Trivia: 4 – 5 pm (free for all!)
Cultural Night: 6 – 8 pm (free for all!/RSVP)

Our dinner tickets are only 20$. You will get a special discount if you register for both of the days. We are also happy to arrange for transportation to and from our venue if you live far off!
Our cultural nights will include some renowned guest performances, including the band “Posto Pasta.” Do spread the word around to your friends and family.
