I had that model on my B331 and replaced for other reasons.
The newer chargers are VASTLY superior and coincidentally my FM radio reception increased substantially at dock as I wasn't aware how much electrical "noise" the old charger put out.

Hello,

I have a Sentry SM 1220/2 20 amp battery charger on my 2002 Beneteau 331.
I am looking at replacing my lead acid batteries with Group 31 AGM's (start, 2 house).
The operator manual specifies that it can be used on lead acid, gel and lead calcium type batteries.
But, it does not say anything about AGM's.

Has anyone used this charger with AGM's?
Or would you recommend upgrading to a newer charger that would reduce the risk of overcharging?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, Ron.
Can I ask what brand/model you replaced it with?

This is what I installed (I know you asked Ron but I had replied since).  It does fit in my 381 where the old Sentry 20A fit and the existing cable lengths (110v) were OK (I had to add new size ring connectors) and I ran all new DC cable - I think it was 6AWG from memory

I used the ProMariner 1230P 30amp charger, as I use 6 volt golf cart batteries for my house bank and 12 volt starter battery.
Two years and batteries seem to be holding up better also.
