Went for a sail on thu. Put boat at dock to charge batteries instead
of mooring. Yard moved boat back to mooring Fri morning.

came to boat today, turned on electronics and autopilot, autopilot
controller raymarine st6001 says 'stalk flr', which when i look this
up says controller isn't talking on sea talk bus.

Looked at computer, wires look to be plugged in, fuse is fine. I am
assuming this is the sensor on the rudder that goes to the computer
not working right.

Tridata comes up, chartplotter comes up. didn't sail so don't know if
other sea talk not talking but my tridata speed transducer isn't in
anyway.

Any ideas of what is wrong? and what to do to debug? Also, is this
something my brewer yard can fix or do i need a specialized marine
electronics guy?

Scott, the Seatalk fail message means the Autopilot head is not
talking to the course computer. Nothing to do with the rudder sensor
or any other part of the autopilot. Easy to check Seatalk
communication is to change the illumination on one instrument and see
that all the others follow suit. If they don't, then by working
throught the instruments in turn, you can isolate where the break is.
Cheers,
Stuart
