All,
Just sharing progress here. I was dissatisfied with the anchor-roller my 88 oceanis came with. It kept most of the weight of the anchor on-deck, meaning the anchor would not self-deploy. You could entirely pop the clutch of the windlass and the anchor would just sit there. For safety reasons that should never be the case. You should always be able to drop anchor quickly and easily.
Also this boat could use an asymmetric in it's sailing arsenal, so I wanted to put a removable bowsprit on it. Well using a Rocna that was impossible with the old anchor roller as the old one kept most of the rocna fluke blocking any deck-level projection near the bow.
I drew the CAD for this myself and had someone local buy a sheet of 1/4" 316 stainless and waterjet out my shapes. I then ground them down and polished them myself. I then had a second local welder weld the shapes together. Yesterday I installed it. The only real issue thus far is it increased the length overall of my boat about a foot and a half. Not ideal, but sacrifices must be made. enjoy some pictures.
