Hi,

The latch assembly for our lazarette self-destructed the other day. The screw holding it together sheared off. Is the latch assembly a standard part I can get at the boat store, or is it Beneteau specific?

Thanks!

Ben.

Darn, I should have gotten a photo last night.  I've got only one sort of outside latch on the 31, not counting the companionway. It's a pushbutton-plunger sort of thing. I will try to get a picture at the first opportunity.

On reflection, there might be a slight variation, as the lazarette latch appears to be designed to be openable from the inside. It would be strange to need to do that from the lifeboat/propane locker or under the helm seat. I don't know if they are designed differently.

Thanks!

Ben.

I don't know if this is the exact part Beneteau used, but it looks like this:

Just whip a call on Ward Richardson at Beneteau in Marion, SC and they will have the right part.  (843) 629-5300

Never mind. the Beneteau spare parts site actually came through this time. I have the part (and a spare) on order.

Thanks!

Ben.

When you assemble the latch, be sure to use Locktite on the threads else it will come apart as some inconvenient time.
