Can anyone describe the construction method used by Beneteau on the 2005 473 Oceanis clipper with teak decks?
Did Beneteau use any techniques that are now considered problematic?
I have a bit of a leak, and i can see several screws sticking up a bit through the teak seems…
did they just do everything they would on any deck and then lay teak on it just cosemetically? It is not the actual deck right?
If it is just cosmetic did they use a lot of screws to hold it down while it dried to the glue? If so, what did they do to make sure that the screw holes did not cause leaks?
Thank you for any information on this.

Hi Tim,
Have the same problem with the teak seats on my 2001 36 CC, just wondering if Beneteau gave you an estimate on the cost (realizing the cost would be higher for a larger boat (hopfully) as I was considering replacing with them a synthetic material but this may be a viable alternative.
But I would like real teak if possible.
Thanks,
Kevin
