Just bought two Hella Turbo fans and was curious who has installed ones before.  I'm thinking of putting them near my switchable interior lamps.  Close to source of power.  I am still tweeking our "new" boat.  Added a cutting board to top of stove top and having a custom table for the salon.  It's much smaller than the stock table and probably 1/2 the weight.  Can make a bed out of the salon but don't want to anyway.  Just found and fixed leak in base of the holding tank.. That project stunk!.  Bruce (Breezy)

On my 473 there were wires available in each cabin supplied by the "fan" breaker in the panel. I used these. Check the wiring diagram in your manual.

I don't have the fans yet but did you mount them in the ceiling or wall with screws, drilled holes ect.  I will check for wiring already existing, good idea.  I'm not sure I have a fan breaker but it would make sense they are there.  I'm thinking of one in the v-berth and in the main salon.

As much as it pained me I drilled then into the rear panel in eqch cabin which on our 2001 381 is a sumptuous dark mahogany type plywood. I then tucked the wiring under the headliner - about 4" of wire shows

We have them all over… two in the forward cabin one forward starboard and one aft facing forward on the bulkhead all mounted high.

One at the nav station, one in the galley aft bulkhead facing the sink area., one in the salon area between the galley and salon, one mounted just aft of the mast compression post into the panel that drops down from the headliner.

Two in the aft cabin… All are screwed in with SS screws into the fiberglass or wood.

When I did mine, I drilled a small hole through the center mounting nut and bracket.   My exit hole dis under the bracket which makes for a perfect installation.   You"ll also find the wire is less likely to hit the fan.  The Hella fan is an easy clean with Pledge and a 2" foam paint brush.
