The Fluxgate Compass on my boat is located under the starboard bunk next to the center. My fluxgate campass is out of sync with my chart plotter. I will have to recalibrate the boat by going in figure eights using the setup mode in the Raymarine auto pilot controller.

Make sure there are no metal objects near the fluxgate compass as it will affect the readings. Once I located it (thanks Bill) I realized the tools were throwing off the reading. I would check before recalibrating.

Have had to do it many times. There are 2 different procedures depending on what head you have. I couldn't get to the calibrate screen following the manual. After much research I found using the manual for the autopilot computer worked.
