polar diagram for 361

Does anyone have a polar diagram for a B361?

often times the boat's designer can provide one,  they usually create one to test their design and to create a sail plan...many B owners have been successful by contacting the designer of their boat

 

US Sailing,  they will make one specifically for your boat for a fee...since  the 361 is a cruiser they may not have one they have previously done that you could get a copy of... since US Sailing is oriented to performance side of sailing 

 

You can make your own... start recording data...  record wind speed, sailing angle, boat speed, the sails you are using...  it won't take too many outings to see how the boat performs and find targets to use... these would be real values of actual performance...  good intrument packages have software that can be down load datea after each outing and help develop performance charts for the boat

 

VPPs are nice since all the data to the extremes is available,  but one has to remember VPPs are calculated data, and represent hypothetical values.  They represent targets like " a carrot on the end of a stick "... and may NOT represent actual attainable results.   VPPs are calculated on known data,  and data points should be compared to a given set of sails and boat loading to establish a base line... this will help in identifying beneficial changes in sail design
