Spent hours doing the same so just this week I replaced - see pics. Biggest challenge was getting in behind to attach the hose. Now the fills mismatch I have to replace them all!

George,

In the worst case that I have dealt with I wound up drilling two holes though the cap, inserting a couple of rods through them and then using a bar between the rods to loosen the cap.

Obviously I had to destroy the cap to get it off. I was able to finf a plastic pipe fitting that fit the thread perfectly and that does not corrode.

Ours was pretty stuck too and I almost tore out the deck fitting out
getting it lose, I ended up warming it up with our handy brulee burner
(Never acually used it for food) and it came lose. Now we have
electroscan and havent touched the thing in 3 years :o)

For everyone who has not had this happen "yet", i advocate opening all of them this weekend, and grease the threads with winch grease, a drop of the grease that comes with the boat for the prop shaft gland, maxprop grease if that's what you have, vaseline, or something. Just a drop will save you much aggravation later. Put a drop on your outboard's mounting screws as well and exercise them to prevent a costly/aggravating job with those as well.
For water tank fills, use something food grade. If you dive, the silicone grease used for dive gear works well.

I used Lear Chemical Corrosion Block from West Marine and a few taps on a screw driver with a rubber malet: it worked for me. Good luck.

I also had to drill holes and to remove the cap on the waste tank,  Not an a easy job on my boat since the angle of the stern interfered with the bar we used to turn the cap.

I find that all the old fittings from Beneteau corrode over time.  I have replaced several (water and waste).

Replace the fitting with a non Amiot fitting. You have to remove the hose and then with a stiff blade putty knife and heat gun, loosen the fitting as much as possible from the deck. Then drive the old fitting out. Beneteau sells replacement fittings that are not Amiot. The quality of the new fitting is excellent.

I just found that we have two of the above chart kits. I'd like to offer the duplicate to the group before putting it on Amazon.

FL East Coast & The Keys
Region 7, 14th edition

This is like new, never folded and never in the cockpit. The going price for ? edition on Amazon is $83. I'll offer it to the list for $75.

I'll add shipping. Note it's big and may be expensive to ship. If you are in the Chesapeak Bay area we will be able to work something out.

Ping me at ca...@aol.com if you are interested.

Same thing happened to me on my 323. The guy at West Marine explained that
it was aluminum, and the thread softened somehow. I was able to get it off,
actually broke a winch handle doing it, and replaced the cap with a
stainless steel one from West Marine, and every time, I arrive, along with
checking thru halls, and batteries, I open and close the thing and lubricate
it and make sure I don't over tighten it!

Ca,

If someone else doesn't jump on it I'd like to see it this weekend.

Bruce,

Sounds good to me ... Did you get my message about 'Holiday Rates'? $3.50/ft, two night minimum ... Yikes! $266 for the weekend. I think if you get here early you will find a good anchorage near us. It will be good to have your dingy. There is a watermans boat docking contest on the North side of the harbor on Sunday.

The place is filling up but no boats are anchored yet. I'll keep you posted if they start filling up the anchorage.
