I noticed today that as my propshaft exits through the outside of the boat, i have a rubber seal that is looking a little aged. the rubber seal is maybe 1 inch diameter and sits directly behind the prop.

has anyone replaced this? is it a simple replacement, or is it bigger than it looks ?

thanks..

This is the cutlass bearing for that end of the shaft. I had mine replaced when I first bought the boat as it too was looking a little aged. I bought it online through Beneteau and had a local marine repair guy I know fit it for me. I'm not entirely sure what's involved but I think he basically removed the prop and switched them out.

Hope that helps ?

Al.

I am interested in seeing a picture of the part when it arrives if possible. I am sure I have the same service coming up on the next haul out.

Thanks,

Jim
