Greetings everyone. This is Jonathan, one of the current Cam members
trying to get the ball rolling.

I wanted to welcome Jason and Chris to the group, and brainstorm some
ideas for gathering more attention. to that end, i'd like to ask where
the two of you found out about BBM. So far, we have flyers, a few
website / weblist postings and some mention on the Tucson RPG Meetup
group. As we look for more players, I'd like to know which kind of
advertising is more effective, based on your personal experiences.

I'm thinking of a few additional solutions, and wonder if they would
have made us more visible to our new members:

-On-Campus advertising, flyers and the like.

-One-shot games, either in evenings around Tucson, or at the Tucson
RPG game days.

-More online advertising, like posts on the RPG meetup group, E-mails
to Tucson By Night players, LARP lists

-More store flyers, in places like Amazing Discoveries or Game Daze in
other parts of the city.

Thoughts, feedback?

Hi all, this is Jason. I get the Tucson RPG Meetup emails, which is where I saw the LARPing opportunity.
I definitely like the idea of one-shot games as a draw. They give people an opportunity to try it out without committing. One-shots obviously have a different dynamic--often more based on solving a mystery, gathering objects, or one big confrontation rather than lots of subtle social pressures--but can be really fun nonetheless.

Out of curiosity, are any of you going to WyrdCon in June?

-Jason

More than likely not. I should note that even while my focus has been on the Cam WOD style games, My friends back in California are huge Dying Kingdoms fans, keep trying to drag me up for a game, plus they're running a big game in SoCal come August. So I've had some experience on both sides.

I bet that they have a point of contact for the CAM already since they have changeling listed :)
