is noise night open to those of us making software instruments and
music as well? i'm talking Pure Data specifically, but the question
could be more general.

Absolutely. This is open to all types of music and instruments, even acoustic.

I'm actually extremely interested in PD, so I would love for you to
come by and give a demo if you've got something interesting running.

The goal of Noise Night for me is to make music, or make instruments.
Some nights I've built something or helped others build something, and
all other nights I've had interesting interactions with people and
made music.
