I would like to have a non-workshop type event so that we can actually
see what music and sounds people are making, as well as just having a
nice meeting and mingle. The plan would probably be to have a set of
performances around 15 minutes each, and probably a jam around the
end.

I've actually got two dates available, but I was going to let the
group decide. We can do something Saturday the 23rd, or the 30th. I
wasn't sure if people will be around for Labor Day weekend or not,
which is why I have the other date reserved as well.

It will be at the W&B in Davis like the last two times, as we can make
all the mess and noise we want (as long as it's cleaned up). I will
also make my tools available, and people are more than welcome to
bring in anything they are working on for help/suggestions, or just
because it's fun to work in a group.

Email the list with what date works for you. It will probably in
either case start around 6-7 or so, that way we can end by 10:30.
Also, let us know if you are up for performing.

Thanks,
Jimmie

Hi friends,
I added myself to this group a while ago in preparation for a move up
to Cambridge from NY, but I never introduced myself. I'm Tim, a
Mainer who'd been living in New York for the past five years, now back
in New England for grad school at Emerson.

I'm a tinkerer and experimenter, and still relatively inexperienced.
I've built my own circuits, and bent a few things, but haven't had
much chance to use anything I've built, and also I'm shitty when it
comes to dealing with enclosures for my projects. But, I love to make
noise, I love toys, and I love electronics, so I persevere .
Currently fantasizing about a new project involving the old Mighty
Morphin Power Rangers' Megazords toys.

Anyway, if anyone's looking for an enthusiastic apprentice, or a
fellow semi-n00b (post-newb, maybe? intermediate?) bender to work
with, or if you just want a new friend, drop me a line.

I would be up for up for meeting and perhaps performing, but it's
contingent on completing a couple devices. So for me, the latter date
would be a bit better, although both would be good.

I finished a pair of APCs and am working on Weird Sound Generator. I
have a guitar pedal I'm circuit bending as well as a toy telephone,
and I'm going to be re-do an old bend of mine so I can can loop it.
These things, plus maybe a guess instrument may be part of my
performance. I can bring a mixer or two.

I also like the 30th, but I suggested the 23rd as well due to people
going out of town for the 3-day weekend. I could probably also move it
to September as well. If people need or want.

I've got two 12 channel mixers, but the more the merrier!
