Hi everyone

Many might be aware of this incident from Memorial Day weekend.  I was not, until I read this article from this week's Source publication.

Please read it.  I know we have all had a spectrum of negative encounters on the road.

Does anyone know if this October 6th plea hearing will be open to public attendance? I would love to show up in support of Jack and all cyclists.

Regards
Ken

Jack is such a solid kid. This is just unacceptable. Assaulting children like this (and in schools) really demonstrates where we are as a country.

Are there any legal people who could weigh in on the utility of submitting an Amicus Brief?

The short reply to the question is that courts are public and anyone should be able to attend. There will be customary security to enter the courthouse and entrants need id.

I’d coordinate with the Billowitz family lawyer about what they might want or need from supporters.

I just read it. It’s unacceptable.  There are two cases, a civil claim and the criminal case.  There isn’t an amicus at this stage, but the judge would likely consider a letter from concerned citizens at sentencing.  I feel like this guy needs to pay for Jacks college tuition.

Thank you for the excellent reporting, Peter.

Mike Wild is the owner of HD Construction and Evacuation LLC.  I hope everyone in this community thinks twice about supporting his business moving forward.

Did this happen today? If so, can someone provide a brief summary of what happened at this hearing. Thanks.

Hi Bend Cycling,

Michael Wild's plea hearing has been moved to Jan. 15 at 8:30 a.m. Just a head's up.
