Starting 5/8 the Rubber Mallet will be rolling out from the new Webcyclery location at 157 NW Franklin Ave. (former Old Stone Church, corner Franklin and Harriman).

Come join us for a fun and spirited group ride. We emphasize safety, good on-road cycling manners, and learning how to ride cooperatively. We will have 3-4 regroupings.

The Rubber Mallet alternates between three different routes, one flat(ish), one rolling, and one climbing/descending.

This week  (5/8) we will be riding Twin Bridges clockwise, and finishing up Archie Briggs /  Left on Mt Washington and then R on Summit.

The following week (5/15) we will be riding in SE Bend.

Let's ride!

Has anyone considered making this a Thursday night ride?  Its a good ride with great group of people that show up for it.  If the ride were on Thursdays then people would not have to choose between Hammerfest and the Rubber Mallet rides and in fact would have the option to do two amazing group rides each week.  Since Hammerfest has been running at least the 23 years I have been riding it, I think if one ride where to change nights, the Mallet being much newer would be the logical choice.

I would be able to do the ride then. I work Tuesday’s . That would be good to have two rides like that to choose from .

Why not add a Thursday ride and leave both Tuesday rides. There are enough riders for all 3.   I’ll lead one Thursday  a month anyone else? Greg?

I think having it the same day is a choice: "rubber mallet" vs
"hammer". It's not as fast a ride and there are regroupings. If
everyone fast showed up because it's on a different day, would it just
turn into Hammerfest II?

Yes. It's an alternative to the Hammerfest and will stay on Tuesday. But I think a Thursday night group ride is a great idea for someone to get going.
