Greetings,
I know it is last minute, and I know that there is potluck, and I know that there is a church campout next weekend, so consider this a personal family hike with a late invitation!
My family and I are going hiking tomorrow after church and potluck and would welcome anyone who wants to come. We are hiking from the Broken Top Trailhead above Todd Lake and will be heading up towards No-name Lake on the shoulder of Broken Top. This is absolutely our favorite hike in the Central Oregon Cascades. It is above treeline for most of it and the view is incredible. The hike is a bit over 5 miles round trip and gains more than 1000-ft. It is absolutely worth it, though.
If you are interested, we will be leaving FROM THE TRAILHEAD no later than 3pm. The road from Todd Lake up to the trailhead is miserably rough, so a high clearance vehicle is recommended. Subarus will be fine. A NW Forest Pass is also required. You can catch me at church or potluck if you need directions.
