Greetings!

I have not done one of these in a long time, but it is time for another of our summer adventures:

Boyd Cave and Arnold Ice Cave:

Sabbath 7/15/17, after church we are planning an outing to some caves around Bend! It is an opportunity to see some of the unique lava tubes that are hidden around Bend. These caves are located off China Hat Rd. Just turn left right before the pavement ends. Once there we will descend to some of the few remaining lava tubes without bars or barriers. The first cave is around a quarter mile long and has rocks to climb over and a crawl tunnel. The second is an area with an ice cave and other shorter caves. You will also need flashlights or (non-glass) lanterns and warm clothes since it is 40 degrees in the caves. Since there are large rocks to climb and it is very dark, this might not be a good one for the youngest kids. Dogs are not allowed, so please keep Fido at home! Plan to join us and invite some friends!

There will be a picnic potluck after church this coming Sabbath, July 15. It will be located at Pine Nursery Park, and we will be leaving from the park to head to the caves. Please plan to bring enough for your family and a guest!

Regards,
Michael Peterson

P.S. Since it has been a while since I used this email list, it may not be totally current. Please let me know if you if you want to be removed from the list.
