Greetings,
There has been a couple of updates to our hike after church on May 30 at the Scout Camp Trail. The time has been set at 3pm at the trailhead to accommodate for potluck. It is a 3 mile loop to the confluence of the Deschutes River and Whychus Creek at Crooked River Ranch. This should be a great time to see spectacular desert canyon scenery before it gets too hot. The trail drops into the canyon to the confluence and then climbs back out by a different route. There is a spot in the middle where you have to climb over an 8-ft high rock, so it may not be the best hike for dogs.
Directions: Drive HWY 97 to north of Terrebonne. Turn west onto Lower Bridge Road. Go 2.1 miles and turn right onto 43rd street. After 1.8 miles turn left onto Chinook Drive. Go 2.4 miles and turn left on Mustang Road. After 1.1 miles turn right on Shad Road. Go 1.4 miles and turn right on Peninsula Drive. After another 3.3 miles turn left of Meadow Road. Go 0.6 miles and turn right on gravel Scout Camp Trail to the trailhead at road’s end.
Regards,
Michael Peterson
