Greetings,

Summer is in full swing and the temperatures are sky-high! Time to get out on a nice cool lake.

Join us on Sabbath, July 11 at 2:30pm for a scenic paddle trip at Hosmer Lake. This is one of the premier paddling lakes in all of Oregon. There are neat little channels to explore, open lake space with crystal clear water, and a chance to paddle up the inlet creek to a hidden waterfall. Bring your canoe, kayak, paddleboard, etc. The best part of the lake can not be seen from near the boat launch so you need to be able to paddle. With floating mattresses and inner tubes you can only wonder about the small part of the lake, so it is best to leave them at home.

Directions: Drive the Cascade Lakes HWY to just past Elk Lake. Turn left at a sign and then right just as the pavement ends to the boat launch. A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park here.

Hope to see you there!

Michael Peterson

Hello again!

Okay, so the weather is looking a little iffy for the canoe/kayak/paddle trip on Sabbath afternoon. I am still planning on going and leading out, but will watch the weather closely. If we need to cancel due to thunderstorms, I'll send out an email.

Hopefully, it will turn out to be a beautiful day.

Regards,
Michael Peterson
