Greetings:

The Bend Adventist Church is planning a canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddle board trip to Hosmer Lake this coming Sabbath. This is a gorgeous lake with mountain views and is perfect for paddling. There are reed-lined passageways, rocky shores, open water, and an inlet creek to explore.

It is about an hour's drive from Bend to Hosmer Lake. To have the most time on the lake we'll need to leave fairly quickly after church. I would suggest leaving directly from church and having a brown-bag lunch. Since we are on our summer "short" service schedule, I think it would be great if we could meet at the lake at 1pm.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park at the trailhead. Drive the Cascade Lakes HWY past Sparks Lake, Devil's Lake, and Elk Lake. Just past Elk Lake, turn left on the signed road to Hosmer. Turn right to the boat launch right before the pavement ends.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, suggestions, or questions.

Regards,
Michael Peterson
