Mainframe Data Conversion Lead (Hybrid – Local Candidates Only)

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Data Conversion Lead to lead complex legacy-to-modern platform migration initiatives. This role will focus on converting and migrating IBM Mainframe data into Salesforce using Informatica and SQL Server as core technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mainframe systems, ETL development, Salesforce data migration, and enterprise-scale data conversion projects.

This is a hybrid position with an expectation to work onsite once per week. Local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mainframe data conversion initiatives from discovery through deployment and post-production support.
• Analyze and document legacy data structures including IBM z/OS, DB2, VSAM, IMS databases, flat files, and COBOL copybooks.
• Create source-to-target mapping documents and define transformation and conversion rules for Salesforce objects.
• Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
• Utilize SQL Server as a staging, cleansing, reconciliation, and transformation platform using T-SQL, stored procedures, and SSIS.
• Collaborate with Salesforce architects and developers to support efficient data loading using Salesforce APIs, Bulk API, Data Loader, and Informatica Salesforce connectors.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, deduplication, enrichment, and reconciliation activities.
• Develop and execute conversion testing, validation, reconciliation, cutover, and hypercare plans.
• Identify and resolve data quality and migration issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish data conversion standards, governance, and best practices.
• Mentor junior technical team members and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data integration, ETL, or data conversion projects.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Mainframe-to-Modern Platform migrations.
• Strong experience working with IBM Mainframe technologies including z/OS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, COBOL, and JCL.
• Expert-level experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) and/or Informatica PowerCenter.
• Strong SQL Server development skills including T-SQL, stored procedures, SSIS, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce data migration tools and technologies including Salesforce objects, Data Loader, Bulk API, Salesforce Connect, and External Objects.
• Strong understanding of relational and hierarchical data models, normalization, and legacy modernization techniques.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise data conversion and modernization programs.
• Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and governance practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical teams in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise legacy modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Salesforce or Informatica certifications are a plus.
