Very good opportunities exist in most organizations in Sales and
Marketing functions. Common Six Sigma projects carried out in sales
and
marketing have following objectives:-
o Improving customer feedback and response processes
o Improving advertisement effectiveness
o Creating better media mix (for advertising and sales promotion)
o Reducing response or shipment delays.
o Reducing or eliminating invoicing errors
o Reducing or eliminating damaged product
o Eliminating the possibility of wrong shipping
o Eliminating the possibility of incorrect loading or stacking in
transport
o Reducing or eliminating out of stock situations
o Ensuring perfect shelf arrangements
o Addressing warranty calls appropriately
o Reducing Customer complaints
o Reducing complaint resolution time
o Improving coordination and communication between sales, delivery,
merchandising, and support personnel
o Improving Customer Satisfaction Index
o Improving the efficiency (conversions) in sales processes.
o Improve the forecast accuracy
o Control spending over time
o Improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) - the average time taken by a
company to collect payment from its customers.
o Reduce electronic financial transaction costs.
