This Shabbat (VaEtchanan/Nachamu) we will be hosting Rabbi Daniel Kahana as scholar/chazan in residence. Please join us for what we are expecting will be a very exciting and dynamic Shabbat. 
There will be a Kiddush in the Horowitz Social Hall following Musaf.

Rabbi Daniel Kahana is a graduate of the Sephardic Rabbinic College in Brooklyn, NY. He received an MA in Judaic studies at Bar-Ilan University Department of Talmud in 2005 along with an award for academic excellence at the Israeli Knesset (June 2005).

Rabbi Kahana served as a full time instructor of Judaic Studies and faculty editor of the school Torah journal at Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School from 2006 until 2009. He served as an instructor of Judaic Studies and the Coordinator of Judaic Studies Curriculum Development at the North Shore Hebrew Academy High School in Great Neck, NY from September 2009 until July 2014, as well as Head of Sephardic Minyan and Sephardic studies at the school. He now assumes the position of Judaic Studies Principal & Rav Yeshivah at Barkai Yeshivah in Brooklyn.

Rabbi Kahana has served as associate as Rabbi at Kol Israel Congregation as well as Congregation Shaare Shalom in Brooklyn. He has lectured on a regular basis at Congregation Edmund J. Safra (New York, NY) and at the Sephardic Rabbinical College in Brooklyn.
