Dear Friends,

We were offered a slot on an excellent bill at Kilkenny's, so we're finally making it out to Newark on the evening of Saturday May 1st! It's our only show until our mini-tour at the end of May, and then we go into a bit of hiding while we get some writing in (we'll be working on a 7" over the summer at some point, it looks like, and playing a show here and there).

Sat May 1st, 9m
Ben Franklin w/ Zed Never, Killing the Messenger, and Frozen Gentlemen
Kilkenny's Alehouse (Upstairs)
27 Central Ave, Newark, NU

But there's another event the day before that I'd like to tell you about, if you have a second.

There's going to be an anti-Wall St demonstration on Wall St on April 29th in NYC.

People seem to be shy, even tentative, about holding these crooks accountable. You don't get to blow a hole in the world's economy and rob the entire country (along with numerous foreign countries) and then ask for clemency, claiming all the way to the bank that allowing you to continue to fuck everyone over is the only way to keep the country fed and clothed. It doesn't work like that. Even I am not that cynical.

At least, for me, it's time to physically get out there into the street and call bullshit on these jokers that are running our country into the ground, the financiers and their puppets. If you want real financial reform to come out of Congress, if you don't want to bail them out next time, if you don't want your parents to lose their pension or retirement next time, if you just want to keep the trains running on time, then you might consider attending this event as a means to achieving your goals. I'm planning on going to this, and so are a few of my friends, I think it will be a good day of playing hooky. Worth considering, it would really mean a lot if you came.

I can tell my fellow NY'ers that our darling-of-Wall-St Senator Chuck Schumer isn't going to vote for anything these banks don't want if he doesn't think he has to.

The giant vampire squid awaits, with baited breath.

xoxo
Billy
