Hi Friends,

This is the guitar player who isn't supposed to talk to the crowd. So you know this is going to excellent!

I was asked a little while back to help some friends who are working on a film. The Don Project is a short film by Matthew Brian Maguire, Vandal Truong, and Dan Bowhers, and this show on Saturday is a fund-raiser to help them out. I am hoping that you will come to Greenpoint, take $5 out of your pocket, and hand it over to see these awesome fucking bands that I hand picked:

Saturday July 17th 8pm doors, bands at 9 till laters, 21+
The Don Project Benefit Show
at Coco 66, 66 Greenpoint Ave, Brooklyn NY

FEATURING

Bitching, chicken-fried rock and roll; BF went to North Carolina with these guys and got up to No Good (see "Ben Franklin Goes to North Carolina" video)

Kieran Moran's revamped rock and roll out-fit! I love this mop-head, he writes Awesome Riffs. Good music for getting into a bar fight and then riding away on your bike, both victorious AND wasted.

Have you seen/heard these guys yet??? Adam Copeland is the mad whirling dervish of post-punk and that shit is catchy.

Invisible Lines
Dizzying and catchy uber-guitar rock that sounds to me like Fugazi meets At the Drive In but with great melodies. Lots of fun to watch all three (3!) guitarists, too.

So this is going to be quite a show. You should consider it among your many options this weekend. Obviously, this is going to be way more awesome, and you should come, and I'll give you a hug, because I'm Mister Hugs once I've had a few. Do tell your friends about it on the internets, would you?

--------------

In other news, Ben Franklin is about to start working on a new set of recordings. Poor Adam is stuck recording us. It's gonna sound great! We've been training for it, and Adam does great work. Eddie and I have been doing our intro-to-music voice lessons and obsess over harmonies, often writing yet more melodies which gets confusing, quickly. But I like the vocal scales.

Playing to a click track is weird. In an unexpectedly excellent way. Like the first time you realized that you enjoy the feeling of raw fish in your mouth. We're aiming for a 7", going to try and get three or four tunes down. This is kind of like the first spike of album number two, lots more stuff in the hopper that's close to finished, and pretty different from our earlier material. Still fairly hyper-active. Lots of weird stuff rattling around the brain. THERE WILL BE GUESTS on the tracks. Diddy, of course. And Wyclef.

We've got one show coming up - Aug 1st on the Asbury boardwalk. More on this later.

In sum: Come rock out on Saturday to see Billy's favorite local bands; Ben Franklin is working hard on new stuff and making it really dang good, all Summer.

All my best,
Billy
