Dear All,

we are happy to announce the release of Bempp 3.1.1. It is a major improvement compared to 3.0.3 with a range of new functionalities.
Over the coming days we will update the homepage and documentation.
But here are some highlights already and infos about how to get the release.

Notable highlights compared to 3.0.1:

  - Redesigned Maxwell solvers with new spaces and various preconditioners
  - MPI support for H-Matrix assembly on clusters
  - Significantly improved H-Matrix assembly times for many problems due to a projections space mechanism
  - A huge amount of smaller improvements and bug fixes

In addition there are lots of under the hood highlights. In particular, we have reduced the external dependencies
by reimplementing some of the functionality ourselves. We now have only dependencies left that are available by
default in the Ubuntu Universe repository, allowing us to offer an Ubuntu ppa.

The ppa can be found at

This is the easiest option to install Bempp 3.1.1. Packages in this repository are available for Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10.

Source packages are available at

Please note the new repository location. We are phasing out the repository at Github.com.

Homebrew installers for Mac are not yet available, but will come shortly. However, source compilation on Macs works without problems.

Best wishes
