The crossfire series revolves around Gideon Cross and Eva Tramell, two people with a complicated past. Both of them are victims of sexual abuse as children, which has left them scarred and changed their overview of life in general.
This is the last book in the series. Gideon starts to open up slowly, with the help of a shrink. There is a bit of fun and fluff in this book. The two also experience a tragedy. Secrets that had been long hidden start unravelling, making the couple question what they have always known to be true.
When IMDB still had their message boards, people would sometimes post about the Crossfire books since there are similarities between them and Fifty Shades of Grey on the Fifty Shades boards. Before the boards were taken down, someone posted about an article that claimed the TV series (or movie) wasn't going to be made because the filmmakers wanted to tone it down while Sylvia wanted it to stay true to the books for her fans. I haven't heard anything else about this, but if Passionflix is going ahead with Afterburn/Aftershock then maybe they should go ahead and make Crossfire as well.
Lionsgate optioned the rights to the Crossfire saga in 2013 and renewed the option twice. After three years of development, Sylvia declined to option again and she presently retains the adaptation rights. She eventually expects to find the right partner, but for now, the Crossfire series is no longer in development.
There were some tweets between Sylvia and fans over the Christmas period about this - the books are still optioned by the second company. TV series would be best. Passionflix are good but I'm not sure the Crossfire storyline is best filmed the way they do (not a criticism, I've enjoyed the films they have done). Crossfire is a little more fast paced than some of the stories Passionflix have done, with the background stories of both lead characters the filming needs to be sympathetic to that as well as to the sexy side of the story. A film would have been great but with the time of a film so much of the story would have to be cut that it wouldn't work.
I think Netflix would do a great job with the Crossfire series. They did a good job with 365 days; although, I was disappointed with the end. They will certainly keep series steamy and not tone it down.
I too have become a fan (obsessed LOL) with this new (If you can call it that) romance Genre. I have really enjoyed Raine Miller's Blackstone Series, the third book was released recently. Emily Snow's book Devoured, there are more coming out in that series, there is a prequel to Devoured called All Over You. H M Ward writes short little books but there are many in each series.  Sydney Landon is great, there are four books in her Danver's series and it starts with Weekends Required. Ruth Cardello has a good series also, the fifth was recently released. I hope that helps.
I have been reading this forum for the past few months and have loved everyone's comments and thoughts, but this is my first time posting myself. I really love SD's historical books and of course the crossfire series.
I hope that my next posts will be helpful. My husband thinks that I am a little OCD. But I need to be able to have thinks make sense, so I have gone through the books & made timelines. They may seem long & I am sorry. I really wanted to be able to give us all a quick reference. Please let me know if I have missed anything. hopefully this will help all of us in our reading or devouring of the series.
I just read that Intwined with you is not coming out unitl May 2013. I am really upset. If Sylvia Day write another series of books i will not read any of them until the entire series is released. I was so looking forward to the 3rd book that was suppose to be released in December 2012 and now to wait 7 months for the next one is just ridiculous. I am very disappointed. everyone i spoke to who has read these books agrees. What is the hold up?
My Mum, sisters and I all read the 50 shades of grey along with
the rest of the world then needed to find something else, started
reading the crossfire series and I gave my mum the books to read
after I was finished we both love the series but like every one we are
wondering what is happening and where is the 4th book and how
much longer do we have to wait cos just found this web page and glad
to see we are not alone.

Bared to You is a 2012 New York Times bestselling erotic new adult romance novel by veteran writer Sylvia Day, focusing on the complicated relationship between two twentysomething protagonists with equally abusive pasts.[1] The novel was initially self-published on April 3, 2012 by Day, with Berkley Books re-publishing the book on June 12, 2012 with an initial print run of 500,000 copies.[2][3] Day has stated that Bared to You will be the first novel in her Crossfire series, with the follow-up novel, Reflected in You, published in October 2012.[4][5] The Crossfire series sold five million English-language copies in 2012 and international rights were licensed in thirty-eight territories as of January 2013.[6]
In April 2013, HeroesAndHeartbreakers.com[19] broke the news that Day's Crossfire series had been optioned for television adaptation. Lions Gate Entertainment secured the rights.[20] Kevin Beggs, President of the Lionsgate Television Group, confirmed the acquisition on August 5, 2013 in a press release.[21] Lionsgate TV Executive Vice President Chris Selak, who will oversee development for the studio, said, "The Crossfire series is an incredible property and it is a thrill to bring it to Lionsgate. Sylvia has created an enduring, sexy and edgy story, and we're looking forward to working with her to create a show that both excites and connects with audiences as her books have done." Although, Lionsgate optioned the rights to the Crossfire saga in 2013 and renewed the option twice, in 2016 and after three years of development, Day declined to option again. In 2019, the option was acquired by a different studio for development as a television series. The project is in active development, with Day executive producing.[22]
Some news sources have commented on the similar marketing strategies used with the Crossfire series and Fifty Shades trilogy,[23] with The Daily Beast remarking that Berkley marketed the book as a "Fifty Shades clone, down to its gray book jacket featuring a pair of cuff links and the tagline: He possessed me and obsessed me."[24] Both series are published by Penguin Random House.
The global success of both Crossfire and Fifty Shades spurred a wave of erotic releases in 2012, with many imitating the two series' content and packaging, but, as The Guardian noted, "other houses' efforts made little impact."[25]
