Welcome to our growing group of conservation volunteers!

You will receive periodic mailings inviting you to join in volunteer restoration work on Belmont public lands.

Like all outdoor activities, conservation work, such as removing plants endangering the native plant communities of our woods and meadows, is not without risk. We therefore require that you read, understand, and sign a waiver before taking part in your first event. Currently this is a paper waiver which you will be offered at your first event.

More specifically, you may be exposed to mosquitoes and ticks. Therefore, you are strongly advised to dress appropriately (wearing long pants tucked into socks and closed shoes) and use a trusted insect repellent. The following public information about ticks and tick bite prevention is provided by Mass.gov here for your convenience.

If you have any question regarding the group and our conservation efforts that are not answered here, please don't hesitate to ask!
