From Chandala:

Thursday, November 8th is the Awards Show for the Rising Stars of
Bellydance 2012.  That's right, we have no idea who won the
competition last month, so it's bound to be exciting!  All of the
finalists will be dancing to the live music of Light Rain at Don
Quixote's in Felton.  Discounted tickets are available online, or you
can buy your ticket at the door.  All the info for this show can be
found at www.DonQuixotesMusic.com.  And here is a link to the Facebook

Light Rain with Helene
& Bellydance International

Thu. Nov. 8 at 7:30pm $15 adv./$18 door seated <21 w/parent

Helene presents a special show of live music by the legendary Light Rain band who will be playing for performances by leading dance mentors Sese Geddes and Ma Shuqa Mira Murjan, plus the winners of The Rising Stars of Belllydance 2012 , who will receive their awards at the beginning of the show. These fabulous dancers to be featured have been voted the best out of nearly forty contestants.

Doug Adams of Light Rain band will be playing violin and recorder, joined by Russ Gauthier on mandolin, banjo and guitar, Bill Amanteek on bass, and Tim Bolling on percussion. Light Rain have been playing for Bellydancers since the 60's, and have also inspired performances by The San Francisco Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet who used their music in the Robert Altman movie "The Company". With their unique hybrid of American and Arabic musical sensibilities they are considered pioneers of New Age and World Beat music. On their 4 albums they have created mysterious and romantic music which sings to the gypsy in our souls.

Helene is director of Bellydance International and has been teaching, performing and promoting Bellydance and Middle Eastern music and dance for over 25 years. She was a recipient of The Gail Rich Award.
