I took my Cayman 3220H over to a friends house to test the
flaky connection of his combo of Alcatel STH and Linksys BEFSR41.
Strangely, even though I changed the user name and password to his
in the quick setup, it would not show sync. I could not get it to sync.
So I put his STH and BEFSR41 back and it works fine for the time
being. But the point of this thread is WHY didn't my Cayman work
at his house??? Thanks

It takes a somewhat (larger signal / better line) for your Cayman than
his STH? :)

The Cayman syncs on "line 2" or the "outside pair". You need a line swapper.

You simply need a line swapper or the correct cable. Take the cable you
normally use at your house over and everything will be fine. You can find
more answers and solutions to a line swapper at this FAQ

Of course, I forgot that I swapped lines. I did it with the wiring in
outlet
and had just forgotten about that part. Thanks!!!

Obviously, we both use Bellsouth. But I gather that his STH/Linksys
combo uses the inside pair. Is that correct??
Thanks again
